Yohoho – Christmas in Genk

Every year there is a winter event in Genk. Over the past few years Genk has been going completely Yohoho each winter.

Come and do some wonderful shopping in great surroundings with exquisite lighting, music to get you in the mood, delicious snacks and above all, lots of skating fun.

In the centre of Genk you will find a true-to-life winter village with the ice rink in the centre, surrounded by beautiful Christmas chalets. Enjoy warm snacks and steaming hot drinks. Apart from the giant Christmas tree, there are also braziers and music to get you into the right Christmas mood.

Besides the large ice rink, Genk organises all kinds of extra activities. For example, in recent years we have had a mega big ice slide, children’s activities in the afternoons, after work parties, Sunday Christmas choirs, late night shopping, Sunday shopping, ....

For some years now, people from Genk and all over have gathered on the Fruitmarkt on New Year’s Eve. Together they swing in the New Year at the New Year’s Bang event. Great bands, live performances, well-known performers, bubbles from Genk and a true countdown.
