Bokrijk open air museum

Previous pageNext pageStartpagina

In Bokrijk's Open Air Museum you step into the past, literally and figuratively. You can visit over 100 historical buildings, reconstructed in their original state. Even the furniture, the argicultural tools and the household effects are authentic

Actors breathe life into the open air museum: the reverend prepares a fire-and-brimstone sermon. And while the farmer and his wife are warming themselves by the fire, the village constable struts around the villgage, keeping an eye on things. The aroma of freshly baked bread from the local bakery makes the children, who are on their way to school, stop in their tracks. Would you like to know who will be given the dunce's cap by the strict master?

Every year several events are organised at the museum, where an event from the past is re-enacted and you can relive history.
